Walking in the Footsteps of St. Paul

Following ancient Roman roads and mountain paths across the Taurus landscapes once travelled by St. Paul during his first missionary journey.

This experience follows one of the oldest pilgrimage and walking routes in Anatolia — through mountain villages, Roman roads and landscapes that have changed little since antiquity.

Tracing a carefully selected section of the St. Paul’s Trail, the journey moves through the rugged Taurus Mountains and the cultural landscapes of inland Pisidia. Along the way, ancient Roman roads, remote villages and high mountain plateaus reveal a landscape that still feels remarkably connected to its past. The experience combines natural scenery, early Christian history and the enduring rhythms of rural Anatolia — following paths once travelled by merchants, pilgrims and St. Paul himself nearly two thousand years ago.

How the Experience Unfolds

DAY 1
Bedre, Bağören & Barla
Begin the journey near Bedre, climbing through juniper-covered hillsides and mountain passes overlooking Lake Eğirdir. Flower-filled meadows, natural springs and traditional shepherd landscapes lead to the remarkably preserved village of Bağören before continuing toward Barla.
DAY 2
Davraz Pass
Walk through ancient oak forests and high mountain terrain toward the Davraz Pass, the highest point of the journey at 2,012 metres. Wide views across the Taurus Mountains, seasonal shepherd encampments and remote alpine landscapes make this one of the trail’s most rewarding days.
DAY 3
Sütçüler & Adada
Follow forest paths and mountain valleys toward the ancient city of Adada, where temples, a theatre and a basilica remain scattered across a largely untouched archaeological landscape. The journey concludes on remarkably preserved Roman roads before continuing to Antalya.
